Mayoush, مَيوش the name scribed on the front page of her website in Arabic letters, is a childhood nick name given to Maya by her family and friends. She uses this name as an alternative to Maya and universally as her artist name. Born July 10th 1995, Maya is a Lebanese-American Artist and NYU Tisch School of the Arts graduate with a BFA in Photography & Imaging. Born and raised in Hyde Park of Chicago. She is passionate about social activism, mental health and wellness, writing, singing and photography. Maya is Yoga Alliance certified, insured yoga instructor trained by CorePower LLC, as well as a DoTERRA wellness advocate. Maya is currently a music writer for Salute Magazine based in Atlanta, and works writing for them remotely. Some of her inspirations include Suheir Hammad, Khalil Gibran, Frida Khalo, Malcolm X and many more.
